Ghost in the Shell (2017) Movie Review

Despite all the negativity around Ghost in the Shell movie released this year, I still went to see it. To be honest, I don't agree with all the "Whitewashing" posts everyone has been chanting about the movie. That being said, I will say some parts of the movie were a bit disappointing, but Scarlett Johansson isn't much of the reason.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD - - - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

1: Takeshi "Beat" Kitano: When I found out he was going to be in the movie, I was really happy! Unfortunately, I thought he was going to be Batou, not Chief Aramaki. I was also a bit disappointed when I saw all his lines were in Japanese ONLY...he didn't speak in English once, even though everyone else did. Other than that, he was great as always.

2: Music: They should have tried to at least get the rights to some of the original music or had Yoko Kanno (original musical mastermind of the originals) compose for the film. I just think that would be pretty cool. ^^;

3: Major's Expressions: When I watched her, she seemed to be too human for a machine. I wasn't the only one who noticed this as I've seen other reviews that made this observation as well.

I really enjoyed it and the visuals from Weta Workshop. They did an amazing job with everything they created. I'd say their work is worth watching the movie for, even if you don't like the casting choices.
