If you were wondering about that funny airplane skit....

His name is Jinnai Tomonori and he's my favorite Japanese comedian.
You may notice that Japanese comedy it alittle different from American comedy. It relies on the environment for something to react to in a new way...

Japan calls this type of comedy "Straight Man" comedy because as the environment changes the person remains straightforward even to the point of being funny. It's also used in America, if you stretch your imagination Focker, Ben Stiller's character, from Meet the Parents is a "straight man" but things happen to him that he reacts to.

Well maybe Meet The Parent's isn't totally a "Straight Man" comedy but the element of him reacting to his fiance's parents is almost like it. There's also elements of American comedy like having a wacky personality, meaning it's more individual based...
